Digimon Card Game - Dual Card, Product and World Championship Schedule Revealed

It's about time Digimon introduced something new rather than just remembering new keywords when they introduced a new deck. As you know Digimon has simultaneous release, so everything announced here will be important. But most importantly is the translation, the cards will be officially translated and I would only need to comments on them instead of doing both, and sometimes, translation might not be accurate.

I am looking forward to these Dual cards, as they look interesting. But the only downside, will be reading their YGO like text on each cards. I do wish they've kept it simple like OPCG or GCG. As you know, I actually lost interested in Digimon as the time went by, it went from unique and fun to very quick. I know I was against NPC on the sim, but if you have a nice hand, 5 minutes is all you need to end the game even if they only give you 1 memory.

But then again, I mainly support Ulforce, and I know Ulforce is pretty slow considering you need Tamers on the field for the deck to work. If this was the old Digimon, I know playing Ulforce would work in the format since decks weren't that fast back then. Plus Future Mode would never appear in this Digimon card game because of copyright issues.

Product Schedule

This is the schedule for Digimon and with Extra Boosters, it almost felt like the release would be every month. I guess with the exception at second half of the year where we have BT26 in August, EX13 in October and BT27 in December. I would like this kind of release schedule for the 2nd half of the year as it would means we could take a break from spending and can focus on something else. A month break doesn't feel long personally, as it goes by really quick, especially if you play multiple card games.

ST23 + ST24

I have been out of loop for Digimon, but seeing dual tamers in starter deck must be nice. Some are definitely better than just a mono colour Tamer, but I guess it will depends on their effects.

BT25

I still haven't play Stranger yet, but I am waiting for the Ultimate Edition price to come down to get the game, so I have access to the full DLC with the game.

Dual Card

Someone in the comments have pointed out how dual cards are similar to Pendulum in YGO where we have the Digimon and Option effect, just like YGO with Monster and Spell effect. You cannot hard play dual cards as they don't have a cost for the Digimon, but you can use the option effect which cost 5 to use.

Arts Digivolve is really strong as if you use the Option effect, we can also digivolve on top of our Digimon if you meet the requirements. It's pretty much a win win situation especially if the Option effect is strong. You will also be stacking Option effect and when digivolving like ShineGreymon here. Hopefully, they would release a Dual card version for Ulforce in future.

ShineGreymon is pretty powerful especially with the 3 keywords, Raid, Piercing and Security Attack. No Digimon will be safe from ShineGreymon, not to mention that main effect which works when digivolving or when attacking. Not only you can play Tamers for free, but you can also reduce your opponent's Digimon DP by 9k, making Raid even more effective.

Now moving on to the Option effect which we mainly want to use before digivolving, not only we could reduce 1 of your opponent's Digimon DP by 6k, but we can also delete 1 of your opponent's 7k DP. Of course, if they have multiple Digimon on the field, this effect will be effective as we could wipe 3 Digimon in a turn combined with ShineGreymon's when digivolving effect.

I'm quite worried that Arts Digivolve could be broken if they don't balance out the effect, but we will see in future. If they do make the card broken, it won't be long to a Digimon ban list comes out.

I think mostly, you want to use Arts Digivolve, over the digivolving cost unless your opponent has no Digimon in play.

I think this will change the game. A lot of Digimon in this game are immune to Digimon's card effects, and unfortunately, we have little room to run removals as Option cards because of memory ramp. But now that we can have a card that can be both Digimon and Option, this will changes the game dramatically, and we don't have to worry about cramping removal option cards for certain decks.

I think this is obvious unless the Option effect states otherwise, or else Dual Cards will be more broken than they are.

Arts Digivolve works like normal digivolving, but of course if you digivolve in the breeding area, you won't be able to trigger the when digivolving effect. It won't matter if your opponent has no Digimon when using removal effects, but would matter if your when digivolving effect lets you play stuff for free as every extra cards would help.

EX12 Theme Revealed

I literally have no idea what's Shambala as I don't keep up with Digimon series at all. But I do know, Extra Boosters mainly have 1 off supports for the builds and you would need to wait for a while to get supports and improve the decks, unless they appear in booster sets.

World Championship Schedule

Its actually nice that they show the World Championship Schedule for the entire world and not focused on specific country like GCG, even though that game also have simultaneous release like DCG. So no matter which region you live in, you can see this time frame. If you want specific dates, you will need to look it up as each country will be very different for the regionals. But what we do know is that the finals is in March 2027 for everyone.

This year finals would be in March 2026 if you seen the subtitle and not to get confused with the schedule. This schedule is for the 26-27.

Prizes

This is season 1 prizes, so we will get these for the first half of the year.
