OP10 Green/Yellow (Yamato) Deck Profile

Some of the new green cards from OP10 set gave me some inspiration for this Yamato build. One of them is taken from G/Y Law build which I've posted. The other will be using some old engine for this build with some updated OP10 cards. It is possible to have a third build for Yamato, since One Piece is currently unlimited until rotation kicks in. So there are plenty of ideas for Yamato build using OP10 cards as an update.

Yamato SN

Yamato Wano

Yamato SN

Yamato Wano

How it Works?

Two very different build, one build is more defensive whilst the other has some Life Gain abilities. But I must admit, that I have ran out of room to fit some cards like OP07 Ace, maybe if you replace Blaze Slice, then you would be able to fit Ace in the build for more Life Gain. I think adding OP10 Smoker to both builds make a difference since we have Double Attack and Banish, constantly putting pressure to your opponent's Life area. Double Attack may not be great since your opponents could gain 2 cards in one go, but in the Wano build, we must hit 3 or less Life to trigger some of the cards.

But if you don't care about Trigger effects and Life gain, then we have the SN build where we focus on being defensive, whilst focusing solely on Yamato to deal some major damage against your opponent's Life area, until we can bring out the high levels. OP01 Kid works amazing with Yamato's effect as we don't need to constantly attach untap DONs to Kid to trigger the effect. We could save up 2 DONs for something else like our Events.

Resting

Unfortunately, I didn't have enough room to fit in Hody in the Wano build, only Izo. But in SN build we have access to the rest Characters, so you won't need to worry about Blockers stopping your attacks. OP01 Izo has 1 simple effect where he works on play, rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters. Although, even if you can't use Izo's effect, the 2k counter will be handy.

OP10 X Drake might be difficult to trigger because of Yamato's Double Attack, but he also has 2k counter which is great for defence. The effect is an activate main effect, you may rest this Character, if your Life cards is equal or less than your opponent's Life cards, rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters.

Hody isn't just a rest effect Character, but also has Rush which will allow us to attack straight away. The effect works on play, rest up to total of 2 of your opponent's Characters or DONs. Then, add the top of your Life card to your hand. Well, this effect might be able to trigger X Drake if your opponents decided to defend against Yamato's Double Attack.

Life Gain

Now for Life Gain cards for Wano build, the SN build doesn't have any Life Gain cards, but you could add OP10 Law if you really need it. Kiku is a card that works on KO, if your opponent has 3 or less Life, add 1 card from top of your deck to top of your Life area. This is not difficult to trigger as you only need to swing once with Yamato's effect, and we would be able to trigger the condition. It is only the matter of fact if your opponent would be willingly to KO your Characters. The trigger effect is if your opponent has 3 or less Life, play this card.

Meanwhile OP06 Momo works best if you have another Wano on the field. He is a Blocker with an on play effect. The effect is add 1 Wano Character other than Momo to top or bottom of the owner's Life area face up. We do have EB01 Hiyori who could play Momo for free, so we won't need to pay the full 5 cost for the card.

OP04 Yamato is mainly used when we have 1 or less Life, however, if you want the removals, then we could play Yamato early to trigger the effect. The effect works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's Characters with a cost equal or less than the total Life on both player's field. Then, if you have 1 or less Life, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life.

Free Play

Both decks will have access to cards who would let us play cards for free. Although the SN build will have more since 2 of the cards are SN Characters compare to Wano build. EB01 Hiyori has an activate main effect. You may trash this Character to play one 5 cost or less Wano Character other than Hiyori from your hand. Then, draw 1 card. Thanks to this effect, we could cheat out the 5 drop Wano Characters whilst also not spending any DONs to play them. But that is only if Hiyori could stay on the field for 1 more turn.

OP01 Law is a Blocker to provide some defences for the SN build. But the on play effect can be really handy, as we could recycle some on play effects, putting pressure against your opponents. The effect works on play, return 1 Character to your hand to play one 3 cost or less Character from your hand. We could recycle card like OP06 Onami to give Yamato Leader Banish again, forcing your opponents to use cards from their hand, or they would lose their Life cards.

OP01 Kid is more of a stall card, but if your opponent can't hit over certain power to KO Kid, then we won't need to worry about our Life cards. Kid has 2 effects, the first effect will require you to attach a DON for the effect to work and this can be easily done using Yamato's Leader effect. The effect works during your opponent turn, if this Character is rested, your opponent cannot attack any other cards other than Kid. The second effect is an activate main effect, you may rest this Character to play one 3 cost or less Character from your hand. This second effect will trigger the first effect even if you can't attack on the turn Kid is played.

Prevention

In the SN build, we've got a few ways to protect OP01 Kid thanks to these cards. The Wano build will only be running OP10 Tashigi. OP05 Corazon is a Blocker with an effect that works during your opponent's turn. If your rested Character would be KO'd, you may trash this Character instead. So if your opponents managed to use KO effects on Kid, we can use Corazon as the sacrifice.

On the other hand, Tashigi will solve one major weakness that Corazon doesn't have, and that is against non KO effects. Not all build will have the ability to KO, especially if you play against Blue. The effect is if you have a green Character other than Tashigi is removed from your field by your opponent's effects, you may rest this Character instead. Tashigi will have more advantage in SN build as most of the key cards are green compare to Wano build who has some key cards as yellow Characters.

Banish

Both builds will have access to these cards no doubt. Banish is very strong especially against trigger effects deck, since Banish will trash your opponent's Life cards instead if your cards hit. OP06 Onami works best with Yamato's Double Attack as we can force your opponents to use cards from their hand, or they would lose 2 cards from their Life area. The effect works on play, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains Banish this turn. The trigger effect is also as important as the main effect. KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters, allowing you to reduce the number of attacks your opponents can do.

OP10 Smoker also has Banish forcing some good pressure against your opponents, but of course, they will only lose 1 Life card compare to Onami + Yamato combo where your opponents could lose 2 Life cards. Although, Banish will still make a difference since every Life cards will count especially for trigger effects. Smoker's effect is an activate main effect where you can untap 1 of your DON. Then, you cannot untap DON with Character's effect this turn. This will allow us to play our 1 cost Events especially in Wano build where we run Blaze Slice.

Supernovas Supports

For the rest for the SN supports, they are mainly searchers and a Blocker in the build. The searching will definitely help to get the cards you need. OP10 Luffy is the standard searcher for Supernovas. The effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Supernovas card other than Luffy and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Luffy will be your best turn 1 play as ST02 Bonney will cost you an extra DON if you want to search.

Bonney's effect is an activate main, the effect is by paying 1 DON and resting this Character, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Supernovas card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Before she was important to have as our only SN searcher, but now, we don't really care if your opponent decided to KO Bonney as we have Luffy as the back up searcher to help us search for SN cards.

OP01 Killer is a Blocker with an on block effect. The on block effect you will need to attach a DON for the effect to work, which is not too difficult in this build since we've got Yamato giving rested DONs to your Characters. The effect is if you have 3 or more Characters, draw a card. The SN Build do have a lot of low cost Characters, so you can easily trigger the draw whilst stopping your opponent's attacks.

More Pizza is for extra searching if you need the search, since this build has a lot of key cards we do want on the field. But if you don't want to run More Pizza in the build, you can replace it with like OP06 Zoro for the build. The effect is look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Supernovas card other than More Pizza and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The trigger effect is draw a card if you need the hand size.

Wano Supports

Now for the Wano engine, we've got these cards. 2 of them are searchers, and the rest just have Wano type, but can be used in any builds as long as they have the colour yellow. OP01 Momo is pretty much the same as ST02 Bonney but instead of searching for SN cards, we search for Wano cards instead. The effect is by paying one DON and resting this Character, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Wano card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Unfortunately for Wano searchers, Momo can help us search for yellow Wano cards unlike Otama.

OP07 Otama is the standard searcher for Wano, but it is restricted to certain type of colour. The effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 green Wano card other than Otama and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. We can only search for green Wano cards, and some of the cards we might need are in yellow. But luckily, there are still a large amount of green Wano cards we can search.

OP06 Cat Viper only works if you attach 2 DONs on this card, this is not difficult to do thanks to Yamato's Leader effect. The effect is this Character can also attack your opponent's active Characters. He is very effective especially when we have summon sickness, except if those Characters have Rush, so we could constantly reduce your opponent's board. The trigger effect is the exact same as Kiku where if your opponent has 3 or less Life, play this card.

Blaze Slice is an Event I really like as you can use this during the main phase or the counter step. The effect is your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 1k power during this turn. Then, if your opponents have 2 or less Life cards, rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters. Both of the effect can come in handy, especially when the power bonus last for a turn, whilst we can also rest your opponent's Characters like Blockers to make your attacks more aggressive. Or we can also take out your opponent's rested Characters, so they won't be able to build up a board. The trigger effect is rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters, reducing your opponent's attacks.

Events

Both of these Events are used in both decks as they are mainly the staple for the deck. It is just all about changing the numbers around to suit your liking. Who Should Disappear is yellow 0 cost Event Counter. The counter effect is the same as any other colours. You may trash 1 card from your hand, 1 of your Leader or Characters gains 3k power this battle. What's different between these cards will be their trigger effects, and this trigger effect is if you have 0 Life, you may add the top card of your deck to top of your Life. Then, trash 1 card from your hand.

Demon Nine Flash is a very strong Event for Yamato because being a 2 cost means we could attach 2 rested DONs to one of our Characters, but also we can be more aggressive. The effect is your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 3k power this turn. Then, you may rest 1 of your 3 cost or more Characters to rest 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. For the Wano build, we've got Hiyori we can target, then use her effect to play a 5 cost or less Wano Character from hand. For SN build, you could target OP01 Kid, but that might be wasting an attack, unless Kid was played on that turn. The trigger effect is the exact same as Blaze Slice, rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters.
