OP10 Buggy |
---|
Leader Character (44) |
How it Works?
This build focus on draw power as well as needing 5 DONs to play your Cross Guild Characters from your hand for free. Although 5 DONs is not hard to get as you need at least 3 turns to get 5 DONs on your field. Currently, none of the One Piece deck can win within 3 turns, so we are pretty safe. Buggy promo makes a huge difference in this deck because this is a set up deck, and Buggy can stop all 3 to 4 cost Characters from attacking, since it is mainly those Characters that have beat stick numbers, as well it is another card that can act as Crocodile in this build, filling up the field to make it more easier to trigger our 10 drop Buggy.
Returning
Returning your opponent's cards is the same as last build which I've kept, I don't think I should take out any of these cards from the current build. OP06 Pudding is decent if your opponents have a massive hand size, although only a 4k beat stick which won't do much against your opponents without DONs power. The effect works on play, your opponent returns all cards in their hand to their deck and shuffles their deck. Then, your opponent draws 5 cards. So the more cards they've got in hand, the better Pudding will come into effect.
OP02 Bon Clay is in the deck because of being a Former BW Character, and this is important because Crocodile can also play Bon Clay as well as Cross Guild Characters. Plus being a 5k beat stick with 2k counter is always handy to have in the deck, strengthening the defence whilst having attacking power. You will need to attach a DON to Bon Clay for the effect to work. When attacking, you may trash 1 card from your hand to place one 2 cost or less Character at the bottom of the owner's deck. Then, at the end of this battle, place this Character at the bottom of the owner's deck. 2 or less we don't have many options to choose from, but at least we could clear the field to bring out a new Character if we need to play a Character from hand.
10 drop Buggy can be played for 5 DONs thanks to Buggy's Leader effect, so this won't cost us 10 to play, it will be half the cost instead. The effect works on play, place 1 of your opponent's Characters to the bottom of the owner's deck. Then, if you don't have 5 Characters with 5 cost or more, place this Character to the bottom of the deck. There is a drawback from being played early, and that is the number of specific cost Characters needed to be on the field for Buggy to stay on the field. I guess they didn't want people to bring a 12k beat stick in play once they have 5 DONs. But at least, we can return any Characters we want back to your opponents deck which is a strong effect against high cost Characters.
Draw Power
We still need the draw power because of the amount of trashing and playing cards for free we've got. The more cards you've got in your hand, the more choices you can do. EB01 Mr 1's power effect is useless since we are not running any BW Leader, and I'm just running him for the on play effect. Draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. At least we get to draw first which is always a good thing. We can play Mr 1 using Crocodile's effect in this build, and being a 6k beat stick is nice to have.
OP09 Mihawk is a Blocker with an on play effect which is the exact same as EB01 Mr 1's effect. Draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. Not to mention, being a Cross Guild Character will allow Buggy to play him for 5 instead of 6, leaving you DONs to spare to play other cards.
Another draw power and also one of the high power beat stick is OP05 Kaido. Kaido is great in this build, considering we don't have any high power Characters aside from 10 drop Buggy who can't be played early. The effect works on play, draw 4 cards if your opponent has 3 or less Life. Getting your opponent down to 3 or less Life is not difficult to do, and more importantly we would have a 12k beat stick ready to attack.
Sanji's Pilaf is great for this build as we won't be playing anything most of the time until we've got 5 or more DONs, and any spare DONs we could use to activate Sanji's Pilaf. The main effect is draw 2 cards. We can basically call this Pot of Greed of One Piece if anyone knows about YGO. The trigger effect is activate this card's main effect which will be even more handy to gain more cards to hand.
Emptee Bluffs is a Stage card, you won't need 4, and you don't have to run this in your build if you don't want to. The effect is you may place 2 cards from your hand to the bottom of your deck and rest this Stage. If your Leader is Cross Guild type, draw 2 cards. The good news about this card is that if we don't need cards that we won't be using, we can put them back to deck. The downside is that this game doesn't have any shuffle mechanic, so we need to burn through the deck if those card does end up being at the bottom of the deck.
Free Play
Now for the free play, we've got these cards. Crocodile is the same whereas I've added Buggy promo to the build which can play some major role for this build. OP09 Crocodile being a Cross Guild Character will mean we can play him for 5 instead of the full 7 cost. The effect works on play, play up to one 5 cost or less Cross Guild or Character including BW from your hand. Thanks to this effect, we are not limited to Cross Guild Characters as I am also running BW Characters in this build, giving Crocodile more choices to choose from.
Now for Promo Buggy, if only we've got promo Mihawk, I think this deck would be nice and complete until more Cross Guild support. Promo Buggy has 3 effects, the first effect is that this card cannot attack. It is a shame for an 8k beat stick, so he will just be on the field for the numbers. The second effect is if your Leader is Buggy, all 3 cost or 4 cost cannot attack. This build is mainly a mid to late game deck, so stopping your opponent's attacks will be very helpful. The third effect works on play where you can play one 6 cost or less Cross Guild Character from your hand. This helps you play OP09 Mihawk, triggering Mihawk's effect to draw cards whilst having a Blocker on your field to stop you opponent's attacks.
Cross Guild Supports
For the rest of the Cross Guild supports, they are very straight forward. OP09 Mr 3 is just a searcher. The effect works on play, look at top 4 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Cross Guild or card including BW type other than Mr 3 and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Just like Crocodile, we can also use this with BW cards in this build, and it makes sense honestly.
The only way to stop OP09 Cabaji is by removal effects, if your opponents aren't running any, then this Character can constantly put a threat against your opponents since this card can't be KO'd in battle. You do need Buggy or Mohji Character for the effect to work, and this is the only reason why I am running Mohji, except just being a 2k counter 5k beat stick Character. Mohji's effect is useless as I am not running Richie in the build, so you will need to think of him as a vanilla Character.
