OP17 Black/Yellow (Teach) Deck Profile

Only a small update for OP16 Blackbeard, like I've only fitted 1 card, and could that 1 card makes the difference? It's up to you to find out. Personally, the card definitely help if we want more draw power for the deck, so we can recover the discard costs when you use the Leader's effect. It is not an expensive upgrade if you already have the build made from OP16 set.

OP17 Blackbeard

How it Works?

The deck works the same as last time where we need to discard trigger cards to redirect our attacks to our BB Pirates Characters. It is also why I am running plenty of low cost Characters, so we can play those cards and use our Leader's effect. If we are low on Life cards, we can play our Life gain cards, which then, will increase the chances of hitting our trigger effects.

Life Gain

A small change to the Life gain compare to the previous build. I could only fit 1 OP15 Zoro in the build due to the room, and I do want to fit more as we want to hit trigger effects. The effect works on play, you may trash 1 card from your hand to add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area.

EB04 Kizaru is needed as we only start with 4 Life cards and we don't have many Life gain cards in this build, so we can easily meet this card's requirement easily.  The effect works on play, if you have 2 or less Life cards, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area.

OP16 Shiryu is kinda a Life gain card, but you will need cards in your trash to work which is not difficult to do. The effect works on play, you may trash 1 card from your hand, add one 6 cost or less BB Pirates from your trash to top of your Life area face up. You mainly want to target trigger cards unless you want to add the cards to your hand. The trigger effect is draw 2 cards which will be useful if you need the hand size.

OP16 Blackbeard is the beat stick of the deck as the other Blackbeard card is a Blocker. This card only cost 8 to play, so you will be able to play this card earlier than the 10 drop. The effect works on play, look at top 3 cards of your deck, add 1 card to top of your Life area. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The trigger effect is negate the effect of 1 of your opponent's Characters this turn. Then, KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters.

Searchers

I am running 3 different searchers so we can increase the chances of getting the cards we need and can run low copies instead of maximum copies in the build. OP09 Laffite is an activate main effect where you pay 1 DON and rest this Character to look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 BB Pirates card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Laffite will mainly be an attack target as your opponent don't want you constantly search cards

My Era Begins is another searcher we can use if we don't see Laffite in the hand. The effect is look at top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 BB Pirates card except My Era Begins and add it to your hand. Then, trash the rest. The trashing could help set up some effects instead of relying on sending those cards with counter or with Leader's effect. The trigger effect is activate this card's main effect.

OP09 Fullalead is our constant searcher if Laffite managed to get rid off from the field as it's harder to remove Stage cards, unless your opponent is running specific cards. However, Fullalead won't give you any hand size as we will need to pay the cost. The effect is you may trash 1 card from your hand and rest this stage, look at top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 BB Pirates card and add it to your hand. Place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. You will be discarding a card and if you can't get the draw power going, you will need to choose the cards wisely.

Draw

Draw power is a strange one, I am actually missing OP12 Baby 5 since I don't have the room to fit the card, and you would end up actually reducing some numbers if you want Baby 5. OP15 Shot is 1 of the main card we want to play on the field to redirect your opponent's attacks onto this card. The effect on KO, draw 1 card and rest 1 of your opponent's 6 cost or less Characters. Combined this with the Leader effect, you can stop 2 of your opponent's attacks in a turn. The trigger effect is activate this card's on KO effect.

OP15 Augur is a backup option in case we don't have Shot on the field, and Augur's effect is actually decent. The effect works during your opponent's turn and on KO, if your Leader is BB Pirates type, draw 1 card and your opponent's Leader or 1 of their Characters loses 3k power for the turn. You will be able to reduce your opponent's Leader power which is what I am mainly after, especially if your opponent uses up all their DONs. The trigger effect is activate this card's on KO effect.

OP17 Pudding is the only new card I've added from OP17 set. The trigger effect will be useless as I am not running any other BM Pirates engine in the build, so I will be ignoring it in this post. The main effect works on play, you may discard 1 Trigger from your hand to draw 3 cards. We are running plenty of trigger cards, it will just depends on what you have in your hand.

Power

Now we are moving to the power cards of the deck where power is involve. OP16 Devon also has a 2k counter which will be great for blocking if needed. The effect works when attacking, select 1 of your opponent's Characters, this Character base power becomes the same as the selected Character power for the turn. The more power your opponent has on the field, the better for Devon. The trigger effect is draw 1 card and play up to one 1 cost BB Pirates Character from your trash. You could play Shot or Augur, then, use your Leader's effect to redirect the attack to those cards.

OP16 Wolf is a card that can power up your Leader, but of course, this would requires the right timing, otherwise, the effect can be useless. The effect works on KO, if your Leader is BB Pirates type, draw 1 card. Then, your Leader or 1 of your Characters becomes 7k power for the turn. At least, we do get the draw power. The trigger effect is activate this card's on KO effect.

OP09 Burgess is a card that works the best during the late game where we fill up plenty of cards to the trash area. The effect is this Character can't be KO'd by your opponent's effects and if your Leader is BB Pirates type, this Character gains 1k for every 4 cards in your trash. This effect is a continuous effect which is very strong, especially if we can also redirect attacks, so we could avoid high beat sticks from KOing Burgess.

Blackbeard Pirates Supports

The rest of the supports are simple. OP09 Blackbeard is our big drop Blocker who can stop a lot of attacks, and if your opponent got a power equal or higher, then, we could use our Leader's effect to redirect that attack. The effect is an activate main, if your Leader is BB Pirates type and this Character was played on this turn, negate the effect of 1 of your opponent's Leader during this turn. Then, negate the effect of 1 of your opponent's Characters and that Character cannot attack until the end of their turn. You will be able to stop at least 1 of your opponent's Characters from attacking, as well as another attack with your Leader's effect.

Zehahaha is mainly an Event to play OP09 Blackbeard cheaper, so we don't have to pay the 10 cost and would be able to play our 1 drop to the field to set up the Leader's effect if needed. The effect is if you have 10 DONs on your field, play 1 Blackbeard from your hand. Then, add 1 card from your opponent's Life area to the owner's hand. You will still need to have 10 DONs on the field, but at least we can make OP09 Blackbeard cheaper to play. The trigger effect is draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand.
