Kid got a nice upgrade from the starter deck, but I am surprised we don't have a new Supernova beat stick that can be a threat on the field. So you will have to make use with the current ones we've got so far. There are still plenty of room for improvements, maybe if we get another set of supports, then, I can see this build being competitive.
ST36 Kid |
|---|
Leader Character (45) Event (5) |
How it Works?
There are a lot of Life gain, so we can use the Leader's effect by replacing the face up card in our Life area, or you can use Zeus to remove that face up card. We want to keep our Leader's effect active, so 1 of our Supernovas can become Blocker to stop your opponent's attacks without the need of playing Blockers in this build. You also have ST36 Kid who can redirect attacks and not just having Blockers on the field.
Life Gain
There are not much for the Life gain options as most of our Life gains are non SN Characters which won't work with our Leader's effect. ST36 Kid can be Kiku replacement, but you can also run Kiku if you want. The effect works during your turn and on play, if your Leader is Kid Pirates, add 1 card from top of your deck to top of your Life area. This is nice as we don't need to wait for the on KO effect like Kiku, and could instantly get a Life gain card if needed. The trigger effect is if your opponent has 3 or less Life cards, play this card. Unfortunately, you won't get the on play effect and would only need to use this if you need a beat stick on the field.
EB04 Kizaru is a Blocker which is great as we could have 2 Blockers on the field if you used the Leader's effect. The effect works on play, if you have 2 or less Life cards, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. You will need to rely on Zeus if you need to reduce your Life area to play Kizaru to the field.
OP16 Blackbeard does cost you 8 to play, but in return, the Life gain won't be random and can get specific cards to the Life area. The effect works on play, look at top 3 cards of your deck, add 1 card to top of your Life area. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. There are not many Trigger effects in this build, so you don't want to just look for triggers, and could try getting the cards you could add to hand if your opponent hits your Leader. The trigger effect is negate the effect of 1 of your opponent's Characters this turn. Then, KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters.
Trigger Characters
There are 2 cards in this build who are just vanillas and will only be useful for their trigger effects. Both cards will have 2k counters so you don't really want to play them unless you need a Blocker. ST36 Apoo's trigger effect is draw 1 card and your SN Leader becomes 7k base power. 7k base power is really useful as it can definitely reduce the amount of counters we need.
P088 Law's Trigger effect is if your Leader is SN and you and your opponent has a total of 5 or less Life cards, play this card. This will require a bit of luck as during the early turns will be more difficult to trigger than during the late game where you can get extra bodies on the field.
Removals
Removal is the same as last time, so nothing really changed for this part of the deck. OP11 Zeus will allow us to add our face up cards to hand if your opponent is trying to prevent you from using the effects. The effect works on play, you may add the top or bottom card of your Life area to your hand to KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters.
OP10 Hawkins is a card that we don't have to worry about your opponent needing to attack into this Character to work. You can make Hawkins into a Blocker thanks to the SN type. he effect works on KO, trash the top card of your opponent's Life area. The trigger effect is you draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand.
OP10 Kid is another card that will be able to trash your opponent's Life area, so your opponents will need to use counters a lot sooner. Kid has 2 effects, the first effect work on play, you may rest this Character to trash the top card of your opponent's Life area. This shouldn't be much of a problem as the Leader can untap Kid to make him a 9k Blocker to use during your opponent's turn. The second effect works at the end of your turn, if your opponent has 2 or less Life cards, draw 1 card and trash 1 card.
Searchers
Only 2 searchers in this build which is not a lot, so you really need to rely on draw power which this deck also doesn't have to get the cards. Both cards will be great in our opening hand, so we could start popping off with specific cards. OP10 Luffy is the standard searcher which won't work with the Leader's effect since this card is only a 1 drop. The effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 SN card except Luffy and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order.
The One Who is Most Free is another searcher, but you want to aim for the trigger effect so you don't have to pay the cost. The effect is look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 SN card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The trigger effect lets you activate this card's main effect.
The Supports
The rest of the support are simple. OP15 Bonney can protect some of your Characters on the field, but not the high power ones. The effect is if your 7k base power or less Characters would be removed from your opponent's effects, you may add the top card of your Life area to your hand instead. This is not once per turn, but you only want to use this if you mainly have face up Life cards.
ST36 Bartolomeo is mainly for the draw power, so you can get the cards more early. However, just like Luffy, we've got no way of getting rid of Bartolomeo unless if the field is full. The effect works on play, you may trash 1 SN card from your hand to draw 2 cards.
ST36 Kid is like OP01 Kid but unfortunately, the effect only works once per turn, so not really a threat on the field. Kid has 2 effects, the first effect works during your opponent's attack, you may flip 1 card from top or bottom of your Life area face down, to change the attack to 1 of your Kid with 5k power or more. Ideally, you want to choose OP10 Kid as OP10 Kid has more power. The second effect is an activate main, you flip 1 card from top or bottom of your Life area face up to attach 1 rested DON to your Leader. Personally, you only want to use this effect if you have no face up cards so we can use the first effect.
Who Should Disappear is a nice 0 cost we can use to protect our cards. The counter effect is your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 3k power for the battle. The trigger effect is if you have 0 Life cards, you may add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. Then, trash 1 card from your hand.
