EB03 Green/Purple (Lim) Deck Profile

There's a new Odyssey support for Lim in EB03 set which can help the deck a little. Although, I guess the main weakness is that we play our Characters at rest, so your opponents can attack into those Characters if we don't have cards to stop your opponents. There's also rotation involve, so Block 1 cards are rotated out for this build.

EB03 Lim

How it Works?

I've kept the build simple by using most of the Odyssey cards as the base of the deck. We need to try and play as much Characters as possible since this deck works best if we have at least 2 rested Characters to trigger the effects. But, we do have some cards who can untap Characters, so we don't have to worry too much about rested Characters being an attack target.

Untapping Characters

These Characters will be very important for Lim as we need ways to stop your opponents from attacking into our Characters. OP10 Lim has 2 effects, the first works once per turn, when this Character would be removed from your field by your opponent's effect, you may rest 1 of your Odyssey Characters instead. Unfortunately, doesn't protect the other Odyssey Characters, so what we are aiming for is the second effect. The second effect works at the end of your turn, untap 1 of your Odyssey Characters. We don't need to have 2 or more rested Characters for this effect to work.

OP09 Lim is the main searcher for the deck. We still don't have a 1 drop searcher for Odyssey. Just like OP10 version, Lim has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, look at top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Odyssey card except Lim and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Unfortunately, since we have no alternative searchers, we won't be able to add EB03 Lim to hand. The second effect works at the end of your turn, if you have 3 or more rested Characters, untap this card. Although getting 3 or more rested is more difficult if your opponents constantly wiping our Characters.

OP10 Mihawk will require the right timing to use the effect. It is also the reason why I am mainly running 5 cost or less Odyssey for this build. The effect works on play, if you have 2 or more rested Characters, untap 1 of your rested 5 cost or less Odyssey Characters. You can also untap Mihawk himself as there are no name restrictions.

Lastly, OP09 Doffy is a 6k Blocker who we can use for attack thanks to the effect. The effect works at the end of your turn, if you have 2 or more rested Characters, untap this card. It's also thanks to this effect, we don't have to worry about Lim Leader's resting effect for our Characters, just as long as we have another rested Character on the field.

Untapping DONs

What this deck has are untapping DONs, so we can use Lim Leader's effect to play more Characters to the field. OP13 Sanji can be replaced with OP13 Chopper if you want the counter as both of these cards will be aiming for the on play effect, except Sanji is a 7k beat stick instead of 6k. The effect works on play, untap 2 DONs, the extra 2 DONs will be handy. The second effect will be useless as I don't have a SH or FILM Leader.

OP13 Shanks on the other hand will shut out the Characters you could play from your hand, but in return, we would have DONs to power up the attacks. You can still play Characters from your hand, but only through using Lim's Leader effect to bypass the restriction. The effect works on play, untap all of your DONs. Then, you cannot play Characters from your hand for this turn. At least, we do have a 12k beat stick we can use to swing at your opponents.

Draw

One main thing we want in this build is draw power. The more draws you can get, the more Characters you can play, and also getting the counters to protect your cards. OP10 Enel works on play, if you have 2 or more rested Characters, draw 3 cards and trash 2 cards from hand. This is still +1 to your hand as we still have to discard 2 cards, but at least drawing 3 will give us more options.

OP09 Sabo on the other hand is a card I prefer over Enel as the effect works when attacking, once per turn, if you have 3 or more rested Characters, draw 1 card. You need need to get at least 3 rested Characters but we can increase our hand size and not worry about the discarding part.

Rest

If we can rest your opponent's Characters, we can swing into those Characters before your opponents can swing into our Characters. ST18 Usohachi is quite useful for this build, although, because of the space, I can't really run 4 in the build. The effect works on play, if you have 8 or more DONs, rest 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. You can get 8 DONs very easily, because we have the ramp.

OP09 Ace would requires you to have at least 1 other rested Characters before you can play Ace. The effect works on play, if you have 2 or more rested Characters, rest 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. Although, this shouldn't be difficult to pull, as least, this will be a bit easier compare to Usohachi who needs 8 DONs.

Dead Man's Game is an important Event as both of the effect can be useful for this build, although, maybe not the counter effect. The main effect is you may rest 3 DONs to rest up to a total of 2 of your opponent's Characters or DONs, this would cost you 4 DONs altogether, but it will allow you to attack into your opponent's Characters if needed. The counter effect is your Leader gains 3k power for the battle.

Beam Sword only has a counter effect, so you will have to make sure to have 2 DONs active if you want to use this Event. The counter effect is by returning 1 DON, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 2k power for the battle. Then, rest 1 of your opponent's Characters. The effect is worth it as we can rest any Characters we want, stopping your opponent's high power beat sticks. The trigger effect is add 1 DON as active.

The Supports

The rest of the supports are simple. OP10 Nami can help to slow down your opponents from using their DONs and also having 2k counter. The effect works on play, if you have 2 or more rested Odyssey Characters, 1 of your opponent's DON cannot be untap in your opponent's next Refresh Phase.

EB03 Lim on the other hand would require at least 7 DONs to work, but we do have the ramp thanks to the Leader's effect, so I don't think it would be difficult to trigger Lim's effect. The effect works on play, if you have 7 or more DONs, all of your Odyssey Leader and Characters gains 1k power until the end of your opponent's turn. The 1k extra power is definitely useful as we can also reduce the amount of counters needed to protect our cards, unless your opponent uses power boosts to make their cards hit.

Divine Departure is a 0 Event you could use as we have some non counters we could discard if we can't play those cards. The main effect is you may rest 5 DONs, if you have any attached DONs, 1 of your opponent's Characters loses 8k power. 8k power is a lot, and would easily make our cards hit your opponent's Characters. The counter effect is the same as any 0 cost where you trash 1 card, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 3k power for the battle.
