Digimon Card Battle - DUAL Card Rule Learning Special!

BT25 is getting closer for the release date, so we got an insight on how these dual cards will work. No doubt, I think these cards might be the future until they introduce another new mechanic. This is just mainly Q&A video with a card reveal at the end.

Dual Card

For anyone who doesn't know yet, Dual cards can be used as a Digimon and Option card. Just like Pendulums where we have Pendulum effect and Monster effects. Digimon is no different with this Dual cards mechanic.

I think this is obvious, and I've doubt there would be effects that won't let you add dual cards to your hand, so having them in the deck would be a great advantage. Although, I guess the only downside is the Ultimate Rare rarity which can raise the price of the deck even more on top of rare promo cards.

The downside of Dual cards is that unlike Digimon cards, they cannot be hard play to the field even if you have card effects that plays Digimon for free, so you do not want a hand fill with Dual cards, or you are pretty much giving a win to your opponents. As you can see in the image above, we can only digivolve on top of another Digimon.

Personally, the best option will be using the Option effect of the Digimon, you might have to pay more cost but we can also digivolve on top with Arts Digivolve, triggering other effects on that Digimon. I guess this only works if the Option effect is useful and could change the game around.

Here is the order when you use the Option effect.

Arts Digivolve is treated as normal digivolving instead of digivolving from effects, so cards like BT16 DM won't work as you can see in the special rule section as these effects work different. No idea how and why, but that's how the game works.

Release Date

This is good, as the 2 starter decks are also release on the same day as the booster set. No idea if we going to get supports in BT25 for the 2 starters as Digimon tends to work differently when it comes to starter decks. They more rely on the older sets or future set that can support them rather than the current sets.

Marsmon

More TS supports and this time we've got Marsmon. I like this SR art and I can't wait to see an AA version of this card as I think it got potential to surpass the current art. Anyway, you could play this for 7 if there is a 13k DP Digimon on the field. Reading the effect, it can be from any field, whether you have a 13k DP or your opponent has a 13k DP Digimon. This is really nice to have to reduce the cost.

The main effect works on play, when digivolving and when attacking. 1 of your Digimon gains 3k DP and battle your opponent's Digimon. This is quite basic, but it is also not once per turn, so you could actually try and take out 2 of your opponent's Digimon in that turn.

The second effect makes sense and this works all turns, if a TS Digimon wins a battle, your opponent trashes the top security card. This can also works for Blockers if there are any TS Digimon Blockers available, since the effect works all turns. I guess if we have Piercing, we could make the attacks more deadly, making your opponent loses 2 security cards instead of 1.

Prizes

I think we've saw the prizes as it is definitely the Agumon evolution line.

Also got the Participation prizes and Event Pack 9.

Regionals prize looks disappointing. I guess if you are a fan of these Digimon, then, it might be worth it. But I am Ulforce all the way.

Looks like we have a sheet of cards being revealed.
