EB04 Black/Yellow (Koala) Deck Profile

Not much of an update for Koala build. I am pretty much only running 1 new card and it uses EB04 cards instead of OP15 cards in this build. The rest is the same as my previous build as want to trigger the draw power as soon as possible for Koala to get a decent hand size with more choices to play.

How it Works?

This deck is very basic as we want to get out increase cost cards as soon as possible to trigger Koala's draw power. What's more Dragon can play Kizaru from the trash as the only requirements is returning 3 RA cards from trash to deck, but we could play any 6 cost or less Characters from trash to field which gives you a lot of options to choose from.

Dragon is the only 8 cost I am running in the build as the other cards can increase their Character costs. Of course, the downside will be the lack of beat sticks, but hopefully, the Blockers will be enough to stop your opponent's attacks.


Life Gain


There's not much for Life gain since I mainly want to keep RA cards in the build, and that have taken a lot of spaces to fit other cards in the deck. As I mention, EB04 Kizaru works very well with Dragon's effect, especially if you have 2 or less Life cards. The effect works on play, if you have 2 or less Life cards, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area.

OP12 Kuma works very well as this is a RA Character and the effect is more than just for the Life gain. Kuma has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, you may trash 1 card from your hand, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. Then, this Character gains +2 cost until the end of your opponent's turn. Kuma will also triggers the Leader's effect, so we could have an 8 drop Character on the field. The second effect works during your opponent's turn and on KO, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. 

Increasing Costs


If we can get Dragon on the field as well as triggering Kuma's on play effect, then, we would have enough cards to get the draw power from the Leader's effect. EB03 Koala has 2 effects, the first effect is if you have a RA Leader, this Character gains +4 cost. The second effect only works during your opponent's turn and on KO, play one 6 cost or less RA type or Robin except Koala from your hand or trash. The second effect will give you plenty of options especially when we also have the mill.

OP12 Hack is the main card we actually can't keep on the field for very long, which is why we need to play other cards to cover Hack. The effect is if you have a RA Leader, this card gains +4 cost and Blocker. As you know, you will need to use the Blocker ability at one point to stop your opponent's attacks. We also have an on KO effect which is if your Leader is RA, KO 1 of your opponent's base cost of 4 or less.

OP12 Morley is just a backup in case we don't have enough 8 costs on the field, otherwise, we will be using this card for the 2k counter. I guess we can have a 5k beat stick to swing with if we lack the power. The effect is the same as Koala which is if you have a RA Leader, this Character gains +4 cost.

OP12 Robin is another card similar to Hack where we wouldn't really keep this card on the field for very long. The main effect is if your Leader is Koala or Luffy, this Character gains Blocker and +3 cost. We also have an on play effect which is you may trash 1 card from your hand, if your opponent has 5 or more cards from their hand, your opponent trash 2 cards from their hand. A lot of decks can gain a lot of hand size, so this on play effect will really help.

Trigger Characters


I am only running these 2 cards for the trigger effect. Both of them got 2k counter, so if we end up getting them in our hand, then, that will be the use of these cards. OP09 Kuma trigger's effect is if your Leader is RA type and you and your opponent has a total of 5 or less Life cards, play this card. We do have a bit of Life gain in this build, so it might not be easy to pull this effect off if we don't hit your opponent's Leader.

On the other hand, OP12 Baby 5 will be more easier to trigger. The trigger effect is if your Leader is multicoloured, draw 2 cards. This will give us more draw power leaving more choices to choose from if we managed to see this card in our Life area.

Revolutionary Army Supports


The rest of the support is pretty much the same. OP12 Koala is the standard searcher for this build. The effect works on play, look at top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 RA type except Koala or 1 Robin and add it to your hand. Then, trash the rest. The one downside for this searcher is that we cannot search for EB03 Koala who is 1 of our key cards for this build.,

PRB02 Sabo is mainly for the 2k counter and also an option that could be played from the trash with Dragon's effect. Sabo is just a 6k Blocker with an effect that works from hand, if you have 15 or more cards in your trash, reduce this Character cost by 3. This will be difficult to pull off unless we've got the searchers popping off setting the mill for the deck.

OP12 Dragon is the main card of the deck, as this card alone, allow us plenty of choices we could use from the trash. The effect works on play, place 3 RA cards from your trash to bottom of the deck in any order, if your Leader is RA type, play one 6 cost or less Character from your trash. The Characters we can play doesn't need to be RA type, so we could play Kizaru or Robin from the trash.

Events


I am only running these 2 Events in the build. Hair Removal Fist will be active as soon as we play 1 of our increase cost Characters. The counter effect is your Leader or 1 of your Character gains 2k power for the battle. Then, if you have an 8 cost or more RA Character, that card gains another 2k power for that battle, making the total of 4k power bonus. You do not need to play 8 cost Character to get the 4k power bonus in total. The trigger effect is draw 1 card and mill 1 card.

Captains Assembled is a backup searcher since we only got OP12 Koala in the build as the other searcher, plus, this searcher can search for EB03 Koala which is useful. The effect is look at top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 RA type except Captains Assembled and add it to your hand. Then, trash the rest. The trigger effect is activate this card's main effect.
